Your role
As a Senior Data Scientist at Ovom Care, you will be instrumental in driving our analytics capabilities and working closely with our Machine Learning Engineers to develop predictive models that enhance healthcare outcomes. Your role will involve:
  • Data Strategy and Analysis: Develop comprehensive data collection and analysis strategies to support machine learning projects, for example leveraging high-resolution ultrasound image data.
  • Model Development and Evaluation: Build, test, and refine predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques. Collaborate with ML Engineers to integrate these models into larger systems.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to GDPR and ISO compliance in all data practices, maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security.
  • Cross-functional Team Leadership: Work alongside engineers, healthcare professionals, and business analysts to define problem statements, devise solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Advanced Analytics: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to interpret complex data, identify trends, and solve nuanced problems in healthcare data.
  • Communication and Reporting: Present complex data in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Integration with Healthcare Systems: Design and implement data integration solutions with various laboratory machines and services using healthcare standards such as HL7, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability across systems.
Your profile
The ideal candidate for this position should have:

Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data science, with substantial exposure to healthcare data analysis.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python and R.
    • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
    • Strong foundation in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling.
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of data governance, particularly GDPR and ISO standards in healthcare.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Modern Tools & Workflows:
  • Cloud Computing: Skilled in using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools such as BigQuery for data warehousing, AI Platform for deploying machine learning models, and Dataflow for stream and batch data processing.
  • Version Control: Use of Git for source code management.
  • Open Source Technologies: Extensive use of open-source libraries and frameworks for data analysis, such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib for data manipulation and visualization.
  • CI/CD Practices: Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, ensuring smooth transitions between data model testing and production environments.
  • Monitoring Tools: Utilization of GCP’s operations suite for monitoring deployed models and ensuring their performance stays aligned with expectations.
